This is an fairly easy base recipe, which we can wonderfully extend by adding seasonal fruits.

Steps

  1. Mix all Ingredients in a glas jar
  2. Cover it and let it sit for roughly 12h
  3. Filter the liquid trough a coffee filter
  4. Enjoy with a ice cube

Variations

Change The Tea Hibiscus is working really nice, as well as green tea, jasmine, rooibos or any other tea you can imagine.

Change The Sugar Brown sugar, maple syrup or any other sugary thing will probably work. If you are like me, you can reduce the sugar down to 3 parts instead of 10.

Add some fruits Cut some fruits an add them to the mix. The smaller the junks are the more surface to extract the flavor. Cut it open. A whole fruit will not extract flavor at all.

Add some spices Basil, Lemongrass are good points to start and pair well with citrus or other fruits

Personal Favorites

Strawberry Basil Leave

Just cut the strawberrys into smaller pieces and add a gently pressed basil leave in there

Lemon/Orange Left Overs

Whenever I have leftover lemons or oranges (mostly I just use the zest and juice), I put them with the base mix in the jar.

Rooibos Cinnamon Orange

Hibiscus Orange

Jasmine Honey Lemongrass
